2011 - 2012 Nissan LEAF Receives Highest 5 Star Safety Rating

Even before being available to American drivers, the new Nissan LEAF is already being recognized nationwide. Becoming the first all-electric vehicle (EV) to be rated for crash protection, the new Nissan LEAF has earned five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). • 2011 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK
  • Ranked in the 2011 Top Green Cars list
  • 10 Best Engines
  • Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Award

The Nissan LEAF offers Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplement front air bags with seat belt and occupant-classification sensors, Driver- and front-passenger seat-mounted side-impact supplemental airbags, Roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System, Three-point seatbelts (front and rear), Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH), Front- and rear-seat adjustable headrests, Shock-absorbing steering column and Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
