Nissan Reveals All-New Hybrid System

Many automakers are now offering hybrids cars, but all EV cars are not equals. Nissan is not the first to add hybrids to their line up, but they might the first one to do it justice. On November 29, Nissan revealed its latest in-house hybrid design. And, Gates Nissan of Richmond is pleased to say, it retain the performance of petrol-powered counterparts and exceeds expectations for fuel economy.

The new Nissan hybrid system drive might seem simple at first glance, as it's comprised of a downsized 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine and compact lithium-ion battery. Downsized engines are being seen all across the automotive industry and li-ion batteries are becoming the standard when it comes to hybrid systems, but, the truth is, there's nothing standard about this new Nissan-build hybrid system.

While the system, equipped with Nissan's all-new continuously variable transmission technology, promises up to a 10 % jump in fuel economy; it can also deliver power on par with the Japanese automaker's current 3.5-liter V6 engine. That's 260 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. And the reason is that the new Nissan hybrid technology is a twin-screw supercharger!

Stay tuned to learn which new Nissan model will first feature the exciting hybrid system, until it spread throughout the entire lineup, which Nissan indicates it will.
