Nissan Cars Reading Mind Technology

Nissan has started collaborating with ?cole Polytechnique F?d?rale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland to research "Brain Machine Interface" (BMI) concepts. The BMI technology already allows people with disability to control movements of wheelchair with their thoughts. Nissan wants to adapt this technology for car usage, so that disabled drivers, and even able ones, can drive by thought transference.
"The Nissan and EPFL collaboration is developing systems that go to the next stage using statistical analysis to predict a diver's intentions and to evaluate a driver's cognitive state relevant to the driving environment," according to Motor Authority.1
This would means, that cars might be able to predict a driver's next move in a very near future. An interface would work with the vehicle's GPS told help taking turns. A device may also read your facial expressions or eye movement to see where you'd like to go next. A car that could prepare itself for the next maneuver will help in selecting correct speed and road positioning.
Until then, come and see vehicle you drive with your tow hands at Nissan Gates of Richmond, located at 4098 Atwood Dr, Richmond, VA.
