Nissan Canton Celebrates Anniversary by Giving Back

It's a pretty impressive milestone but after 10 years of production at the Canton, MS site, Nissan feels that it's time to celebrate. After over a decade of producing new Nissan vehicles, the plant's ready to give back to the community that has helped them achieve so much.

To be a bit more specific, Nissan is equipping the plant with machinery to produce the Murano in 2014. As a result of this?

If the Oscars had a category for sweet rides appearing in a feature film, Gates Nissan of Richmond is pretty sure the Fast and Furious movies would take home the top prize. That's because a new Nissan is taking on a prominent role in the sixth movie of the franchise. Of course, we're talking about the Nissan GT-R.

While the standard GT-R in our showroom would certainly give Paul Walker and Vin Diesel a chance to put the pedal to the metal, the Nissan sports car is getting an upgrade to make it Hollywood-ready.

With the help of customization experts BenSopra and SP Engineering, the Nissan GT-R will get a new aerodynamic body kit with full carbon-fiber fittings. As is, the GT-R is an attention-grabbing. This version? Even more.

To maximize speed, the engine also is going to get an added boost of power. A Switzer P800 turbo kit will be added to the 3.8-liter V6 engine along with downpipes and Y-Pipes from HKS and SP Engineering.

While we can't get our hands on this customized Nissan GT-R, you can stop in to Gates Nissan of Richmond and check out the showroom model for yourself. We can also talk modification and the right Nissan parts for the job.

Of course, you can simply browse our selection of new Nissan vehicles at 4098 Atwood Dr. in Richmond, KY, where we'd be more than happy to answer your questions and set up a test drive in a model that interests you.

Usain Bolt and Nissan Go For a Different Kind of Gold

How does an Olympic superstar like Usain Bolt follow up winning three gold medals at the 2012 Olympic games? Gates Nissan of Richmond may specialize in the sale of new Nissan models, but that doesn't meant we've heard this question asked more than a few times. As for why we're bringing it up on our blog: the answer is actually tied directly to our favorite Japanese automaker.

Specifically, Usain Bolt and Nissan

You probably know that Nissan is on board with the Green Vehicle Movement with their efficient Nissan Leaf EV. But did you know that Nissan is doing more for sustainable energy in the US?  In fact, Nissan is involved in building energy-efficient houses for people in need in the U.S. The first grant-funded, green home is being built right now Georgia with the help of Nissan volunteers and non-profit Habitat for Humanity chapter, Southern

Nissan Cars Reading Mind Technology

We have heard of mind reading technology before, but this is actually the first time a car maker is working on implementing this technology in the automotive industry. And it seems that soon cars like the Nissan Altima may be able to read your mind.

Nissan has started collaborating with École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland to research "Brain Machine Interface" (BMI) concepts. The BMI technology already allows people with disability

Win a New Nissan and/or Vehicle Service Plan

Nissan is now hosting "The Nissan Keep the Summer Rolling Service Sweepstakes", available exclusively to current Nissan owners. First let us say, it's not often an automaker makes a sweepstakes exclusive to owners. For those non-Nissan owners, we apologize that this stellar opportunity simply does not apply to you and encourage you to keep your eyes out for forthcoming sweepstakes to which you may enter. The advantage for current Nissan owners, however, is the

Nissan Helping People in Difficult Time

As we all know that the southeastern United States has been getting nailed by severe weather recently. And while some are standing idly by, others are actually doing something about it. Nissan, for example.

The Japanese automaker, had just promised $115,000 in relief aid to the American Red Cross to help them provide food, clothing and shelter for storm victims in the southeastern U.S, they are stepping up to the plate again. This?
